It’s thin mint and tagalong season! We may want to “accept all” the cookies we’re offered in real life, but the ones we run into on many websites may not be as sweet. Our IT project manager shares that, while cookies may make your browsing experience smoother, the convenience may not always be worth the security risk. Take it away, Nathan!

You land on a new site, and immediately you're notified that "this website uses cookies," but what does that mean? HTTP cookies are used to keep track of items you've viewed or added to your shopping cart to personalize your web browsing experience. This may streamline shopping, but just like with real cookies, they're best enjoyed in moderation.
Cookies can sometimes be exploited by the bad actors on the internet, so it’s best practice to remove cookies every now & then for a refresh on your web browsing experience.
You can Google how to do this for your web browser (Explorer, Edge, Chrome, or Firefox, etc.). Just be sure and close/quit the browser and restart it after clearing cookies.
