Applied Connective Technologies, a managed technology services provider based in Albion, Columbus and Norfolk, announced today that it has officially finalized purchase of all assets previously owned by Community Internet Systems/Wire-Free Nebraska, more commonly known as Megavision.
Megavision has been providing DSL, fixed wireless internet, email and website hosting for customers in the Columbus area for the past couple of decades.
Applied Connective Technologies’ Columbus office is located the Parkway Plaza.
The official announcement was made at Applied Connective’s Albion office headquarters on December 31, with Attorney Jeff Jarecki of Jarecki Lay & Sharp, PC, LLO, present.
Conversations about a potential acquisition of CIS/WFN first began in 2019 when former owners Paul and Linda Aerni of Columbus met with Ed Knott, Applied Connective Company President, to discuss the opportunity of an asset purchase. Ed explains they’ve enjoyed a long-standing friendly and respectful professional relationship with Megavision and staff for upwards of 15 years, as the companies have often collaborated in order to better serve mutual customers. The process took several months to complete, and the deal was signed Friday morning, December 31st.
CIS/WFN has been providing internet service to customers throughout the region, Platte County and the Columbus area in addition to offering email, domain and web hosting services to a large number of business customers.
“This acquisition makes a lot of sense from a product and services standpoint and also aligns with our business expansion ambitions. Megavision’s fixed wireless internet and business email hosting services align well with our current offerings and position us to provide additional services to the existing customer base,” says Knott. “Both parties are thrilled with the arrangement, and I want to thank Paul and Linda and their crew for being excellent to work with over the years as well as throughout this transition.”
“We’re excited to expand our footprint in the Columbus area and bring other exciting services and solutions to this population. And with a larger team of experts and resources in these areas, customers can expect enhanced service and support as well as modernization of their current technologies.”
